Veterans and their spouses may receive skilled nursing care at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, located on Rainbow Lake near Waupaca. Couples able to care for themselves may live in picturesque cottages on the home's campus. Veterans and spouses must apply income and assets to the cost of their care to the extent required by Medicaid eligibility standards. The Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove offers community-based residential facilities for veterans and their spouses.
