Health Care Aid

 

The Assistance to Needy Veterans grant program provides limited financial assistance to those in need and who have exhausted all other sources of aid. The grants may be used for specified health care and subsistence needs, up to a maximum grant limits. There is a lifetime cumulative grant award limit per individual of $5000 for the Assistance to Needy Veterans grant program.

Health Care Aid Financial assistance may be provided to qualified, eligible applicants for: Dental Care Vision Care Hearing Care During any 12-month period, financial assistance for health care aid is limited as follows: Dental care, $2500 maximum Vision care, $500 maximum Hearing care, maximum of $1500 per ear Grant awards for health care aid cannot exceed the annual limits listed above, or the Assistance to Needy Veterans grant program $5,000 lifetime limit.

The department may not provide health care aid under this program unless the aid recipient's health care provider agrees to accept, as full payment for the health care provided, the amount of the payment, the amount of the recipient's health insurance or other third-party payments, if any, and the amount that the department determines the applicant is capable of paying.
